Instructions

  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 cups of flour and 1 tablespoon of salt.
  3. Incorporate yeast mixture: Pour the activated yeast mixture into the dry ingredients, adding 2 tablespoons of olive oil or melted butter as you stir to combine.
  4. Knead the dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. First rise: Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the loaf: Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, place it into a greased pan, cover, and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
