Description

Indulge in a delightful Strawberry Danish with buttery, flaky pastry and a creamy, sweet filling topped with fresh strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick and cut into 4-inch squares.
  3. Mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square and layer sliced strawberries on top.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the cream cheese filling a day in advance. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
