Description

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Red Food Coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking pan: Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  4. Mix wet ingredients: Blend sugar with vegetable oil, then add eggs one at a time, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add red food coloring to the wet mixture, stirring well.
  6. Combine mixtures by gradually adding dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  9. Prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Frost the cooled cake with the cream cheese frosting, letting it cascade over the edges.
