Instructions
- Activate the yeast: In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Mix dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Combine mixtures: Gradually add the flour mixture to the yeast mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon. Drizzle in olive oil to create a smooth dough.
- Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Incorporate the flavors: Sprinkle in the shredded cheese, garlic powder, and herbs while kneading.
- First rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Shape the bread: Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
