- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large egg (optional, for binding)
- 1 cup cheese (shredded, for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the cabbage by cutting it into thick slices, about one inch wide.
- Brush both sides of the cabbage slices with olive oil.
- Mix the ground beef or turkey with onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg if using.
- Form equal-sized patties from the meat mixture.
- Assemble the burgers by placing cabbage slices on a baking sheet and topping each with a patty and cheese.
- Bake for about 25 minutes until cooked through and cabbage is tender.
Notes
For extra crunch, flip the cabbage slices halfway through the baking process. Use a grill for an alternative cooking method, keeping an eye on the cabbage.
