Description

Deliciously crispy onion ring chips, perfectly seasoned and coated for the ultimate snack experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions, sliced into 1/4-inch rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the dry mixture by combining flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  3. Pour the buttermilk into another bowl.
  4. Coat the onion rings by dipping them into the buttermilk, then into the flour mixture.
  5. Double dip the rings back into the buttermilk and then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Fry the onion rings in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Drain the fried onion rings on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, let the coated onion rings rest before frying. Try air-frying for a healthier alternative.
