Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan (optional)
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  3. Season the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and olive oil.
  4. Sear the shrimp in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque, then set aside.
  5. Sauté garlic in the skillet with melted butter for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Combine lemon juice, lemon zest, red pepper flakes (if using), and remaining Old Bay seasoning with reserved pasta water.
  7. Mix the drained pasta and seared shrimp in the skillet until coated and warmed through.
  8. Garnish with parsley and Parmesan before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality shrimp for the best flavor. Reserve pasta water for a smooth sauce.
