- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan (optional)
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- Season the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and olive oil.
- Sear the shrimp in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque, then set aside.
- Sauté garlic in the skillet with melted butter for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Combine lemon juice, lemon zest, red pepper flakes (if using), and remaining Old Bay seasoning with reserved pasta water.
- Mix the drained pasta and seared shrimp in the skillet until coated and warmed through.
- Garnish with parsley and Parmesan before serving.
Notes
Use high-quality shrimp for the best flavor. Reserve pasta water for a smooth sauce.
