- 4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
- 1/2 cup apple butter
- 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Cream the butter in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the powdered sugar gradually while mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Introduce the apple butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using), blending on medium-high speed for another 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust the consistency with milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, until perfect for spreading or piping.
- Whip on high speed for about a minute until light and fluffy.
- Taste the icing and adjust flavors with more cinnamon or salt if desired.
Notes
Store leftover icing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. It can be frozen for up to three months.
