Indulge in the warmth of cinnamon and sugar with this fluffy, crispy French toast, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of thick bread (brioche or challah)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Whipped cream (for serving)
  • Fresh fruit (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and half of the cinnamon and sugar.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a generous pat of butter.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated well.
  4. Place the coated bread in the skillet, cooking until golden brown—about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Once cooked, immediately cover the French toast with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Serve with whipped cream, maple syrup, and fresh fruit.

Notes

Prepare the egg mixture the night before for convenience. You can also air fry or bake the French toast for a lighter version.
