- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate (for ganache)
- Fresh berries (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease your bundt pan.
- Mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Pour in the boiling water and stir gently until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack.
- Heat the heavy cream until simmering, remove from heat, and stir in the chopped chocolate until smooth for the ganache.
- Pour the ganache over the cooled cake and garnish with fresh berries.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute almond flour for all-purpose flour.
