Description

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate (for ganache)
  • Fresh berries (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease your bundt pan.
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry mixture. Mix until just combined.
  4. Pour in the boiling water and stir gently until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack.
  8. Heat the heavy cream until simmering, remove from heat, and stir in the chopped chocolate until smooth for the ganache.
  9. Pour the ganache over the cooled cake and garnish with fresh berries.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute almond flour for all-purpose flour.
