Description
A comforting dish of crispy fries topped with shredded chicken, cheese curds, rich gravy, and creamy cheese sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag (28 oz) frozen thick-cut fries
- 1 ½ cups cooked shredded chicken
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup cheese curds (or cubed mozzarella)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 ½ cups brown gravy
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake until golden brown and crispy, approximately 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Heat the shredded chicken in a skillet over medium heat until warmed, then set aside.
- Cook the bacon in a separate pan over medium heat until crisp, then drain and crumble.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in milk, continuing to whisk until thickened.
- Stir in cheddar cheese until the mixture is smooth and melted.
- Heat the brown gravy according to package directions until hot and pourable.
- Assemble the dish by layering the crispy fries on a large platter, topped with warm chicken and cheese curds. Pour hot gravy over the top, then drizzle with cheese sauce, finish with crumbled bacon and green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
You can prepare the bacon and chicken a day before and store them in the fridge. Reheat before assembly.
