- 6 cups of day-old bread, cubed
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, browned
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of toffee bits
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread and toffee bits.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, browned butter, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Pour the mixture over the bread and toffee bits, ensuring all the bread is soaked.
- Let it sit for 15 minutes to absorb the liquid.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
