Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Set it to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Pour in the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Using an electric mixer, blend on medium speed for about two minutes until the batter is smooth and glossy.
  4. Incorporate boiling water: Carefully stir in the boiling water. Don’t worry if the batter seems thin; this is normal.
  5. Divide the batter: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
