Description

A gourmet twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring sweet apple butter and creamy brie cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough or whole grain)
  • 2 tablespoons apple butter
  • 2 ounces brie cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread apple butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place brie cheese on top of the apple butter on one slice.
  4. Top with the other slice of bread, apple butter side down.
  5. Spread butter on the outside of the sandwich.
  6. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier approach, substitute butter with olive oil. You can also customize with caramelized onions or fresh arugula.
