- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 head of roasted garlic
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (parsley, rosemary, thyme)
- Butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Mix roasted garlic, mozzarella cheese, and fresh herbs in a separate bowl for the filling.
- Roll the dough out onto a floured surface into a rectangle, spread the filling, and roll tightly from one end to the other.
- Slice the rolled dough into pinwheels and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the dish and let the pinwheels rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter before serving.
Notes
For a make-ahead option, prepare the dough the day before and refrigerate; bake the next day. You can also use an air fryer for a quicker method.
