- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the strawberries by mixing them with a little sugar and letting them sit.
- Once the cake is cool, slice it in half horizontally.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Layer the bottom half of the cake with whipped cream and strawberries, then place the top half of the cake on top.
- Top with more whipped cream and strawberries before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh strawberries.
- Can substitute heavy cream with a non-dairy alternative for a vegan version.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
