Ingredients

- 6 cups of sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of sea salt
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 pre-made pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then stir in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and sea salt to make the caramel sauce.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the apple mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour the apple and caramel mixture into the pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until the apples are tender.
- Let the pie cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
