- 2 cups of rice
- 4 cups of water
- 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are soft.
- Stir in the garlic powder and onion powder, cooking for an additional minute.
- Add the rinsed rice to the pot and stir to combine.
- Pour in the water and soy sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
- Cook for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like peas or carrots for extra nutrition.
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
