- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, milk, and maple syrup to the mixture and mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the bars are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and maple syrup in a small bowl until smooth.
- Once the bars are done, let them cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars and let it set before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark maple syrup.
- These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to add chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter for extra texture.
