Description
Experience the magic of Louisiana with crispy fries topped with creamy white cheddar cheese sauce, ranch seasoning, and a kick of cayenne.
Ingredients
Scale
- 26 ounces frozen French fries
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 2 teaspoons ranch seasoning powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder (divided)
- 8 ounces white cheddar cheese (shredded)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven or air fryer to 400°F.
- Arrange frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet or in your air fryer basket. Bake until golden brown according to the package instructions, usually for about 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway for even crispiness.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until bubbling lightly.
- Gradually add milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps, and keep stirring until smooth and well-blended.
- Stir in salt, ground white pepper, ranch seasoning, and half of the cayenne powder.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes.
- Add shredded white cheddar cheese and stir gently until melted and creamy.
- Pour the cheese sauce over the crispy fries and serve warm, garnished with the remaining cayenne powder.
Notes
For a customizable version, consider adding jalapeños or protein toppings like pulled pork.
