Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Arrange frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet or in your air fryer basket. Bake until golden brown according to the package instructions, usually for about 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway for even crispiness.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until bubbling lightly.
  4. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps, and keep stirring until smooth and well-blended.
  5. Stir in salt, ground white pepper, ranch seasoning, and half of the cayenne powder.
  6. Lower the heat to medium-low and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes.
  7. Add shredded white cheddar cheese and stir gently until melted and creamy.
  8. Pour the cheese sauce over the crispy fries and serve warm, garnished with the remaining cayenne powder.
