Description

A delightful recipe for making irresistibly fluffy Korean milk cream donuts that are soft, airy, and filled with a creamy milk filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into small balls.
  6. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare the milk cream filling by whipping heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk until soft peaks form.
  8. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides, then drain on paper towels.
  10. Once cooled, fill the donuts with the milk cream filling using a piping bag.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add vanilla extract to the cream filling.
  • Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
