Description
A delightful recipe for making irresistibly fluffy Korean milk cream donuts that are soft, airy, and filled with a creamy milk filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into small balls.
- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the milk cream filling by whipping heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk until soft peaks form.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides, then drain on paper towels.
- Once cooled, fill the donuts with the milk cream filling using a piping bag.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- For a richer flavor, you can add vanilla extract to the cream filling.
- Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
