- 1 lb chicken thighs (boneless skinless, cut into 2” pieces)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp flour (gluten-free alternative available)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 garlic cloves (thinly sliced)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 tbsp cold unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- Finely chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cut chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and toss in a mixture of cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium heat and add chicken in a single layer; cook undisturbed for 8 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 8 minutes.
- Remove chicken and add sliced garlic to the skillet, cooking until fragrant for about 1 minute.
- Lower the heat, add butter, honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar; whisk until the sauce thickens.
- Return chicken to the skillet and coat it in the honey butter sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving hot.
Notes
Consider marinating chicken for enhanced flavor. Serve with steamed rice, coleslaw, or garlic bread for a complete meal.
