A delightful combination of tender chicken and crisp broccoli in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Sauté the chicken for 5–6 minutes, turning occasionally, until it turns golden brown and is fully cooked through. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
- Add 1/4 cup of water and the broccoli florets to the same skillet. Cover the pan and steam for 2–3 minutes until the broccoli becomes bright green and retains a crisp-tender texture. Discard any excess water.
- Lower the heat to medium-low. Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in the skillet. Stir in 4 minced garlic cloves and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (if desired). Stir to combine the ingredients.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss gently to coat it in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes.
- Gently fold in the steamed broccoli, ensuring it’s evenly mixed in the sauce.
- Remove from heat and finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and chopped parsley, if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
This dish can be prepped ahead of time and stored in airtight containers for up to 3 days in the fridge. You can also use firm tofu as a substitute for chicken for a vegetarian version.
