- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- Sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and almond extract, mixing until combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass or your hand.
- If desired, sprinkle with colored sugar or sprinkles.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a festive touch, you can shape the cookies using cookie cutters.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- These cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months.
