Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a jelly roll pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool, then carefully roll it up in a clean kitchen towel.
  8. For the filling, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Unroll the cake, spread the whipped cream filling, and roll it back up.
  10. Frost the outside with remaining whipped cream and decorate with chocolate shavings.
