  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients, then beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in boiling water to create a thin batter.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cakes for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack; layer the cakes with caramel sauce in between.
  7. Garnish the top with toffee bits and chocolate chips before serving.
