Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce and brown sugar until dissolved.
  2. Marinate chicken thighs in the soy sauce mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat.
  4. Add marinated chicken and cook until caramelised on both sides.
  5. Remove chicken and set aside. In the same pot, add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  7. Add rice and return chicken to the pot. Simmer until rice is cooked and chicken is tender.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
