  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease your 12-inch ovenproof skillet or pizza pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, melted butter, salt, and black pepper, mixing until uniformly moistened.
  3. Press the hash brown mixture firmly into the prepared pan, creating a cohesive crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 20 to 25 minutes until golden-brown and crisp.
  5. Remove from the oven and top with shredded cheddar cheese and optional sausage or bacon, bell pepper, and green onions.
  6. Gently create four wells in the topping and crack an egg into each well. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 to 12 minutes until the egg whites are set.
  8. Allow to cool for 3 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
