- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Soak the sliced onions in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Drain the onions and coat them in the flour mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the coated onions in a single layer in the basket and spray the tops with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and let cool before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of the onion slices.
